Hey Smartek community!

If you've recently received an email notification that says, “Employee Link to XXXX has expired,” don’t worry – you're not alone! This is a common matter, and in this email, we’ll explain what happened, why it’s happening, and how to quickly resolve it.

What Happened?

The “Employee Link has expired” message typically appears when the employee link to your customer has expired. This expires after 12months.

While this might seem like a hassle, it’s a safeguard to keep everything running smoothly and securely!

How to Fix It?

Don’t panic! Fixing the issue is simple and should only take a few minutes. The Smartek Admin Account person will be able to re-link you to the customer, please get in contact with your Smartek Admin Account representative

Here’s what you can do:

  1. Check Your Email for the notification: Smartek will send an email to you automatically when it is about to expire and continually until it is renewed. Check your inbox (and spam folder just in case!)

  1. Smartek Admin person Log in to the Smartek Portal: If you’ve received the email, simply log into your Smartek account (Smartek account admin users only) and you will see a page like this:

  1. How to reactivate the employee link
  • Navigate to the home page and click on the customer in the middle of the homepage
  • Select Link Employees and renew the employees which have expired

4. If you click on the blue icon to renew and you get the error message ‘you don’t have enough credits’, you will need to purchase ‘employee linking credits’ as shown below.

Preventing the Issue in the Future

While expired links are a normal part of maintaining a secure platform, here are a few things you can do to avoid this in the future:

  • Check Link Expiration Dates: If you know a link has a time limit, try to use it as soon as possible to avoid it expiring.
  • Update Your Contact Information: Make sure your email address and other contact info are up-to-date in the Smartek system. This ensures you receive notifications and updates without delay.
  • Stay Logged In: If you’re working with critical links, try staying logged into Smartek for longer periods to reduce the chances of expiration during short tasks.
